This Week's Billboard Top 5

This week was interesting for the Billboard Top 5. Akon moved up to Numero Uno with his song I Wanna Love You featuring Snoop Dogg. And they finally got it together with Beyonce' and she's number 2 with the sequel to Ring the Alarm, Irreplaceable. Beyonce's funny to me. After she rang the alarm on the guy, she didn't lose a beat and put ALL his stuff in a box to the left. Well Anyway here's the Top 5.

What's The T Gir? Noah's Arc

For those of you who know anything about Patrik-Ian Polk's breakthrough television series Noah's Arc, you'll know that it is freakin awesome, if I do say so myself. Now I know I'm kinda late, seeing as how season 2 is over, and everybody's eagerly anticipating the DVD to come out. But, I just want to encourage everybody to go on www.logoonline.com and write LOGO an email telling them what the show means to you, and also encourage them to continue on with season 3. I just watched season 1 on DVD again(lol this is like the 4th or 5th time), and I fell in love with the show all over. If you havent seen it yet, it's almost payday so go to Best Buy and pick it up for 31.99 or go to iTunes and get Seasons 1 & 2. You're sure to LOVE it.

I don't know who watches America's Next Top Model out there, but I just saw an episode yesterday. Surprisingly enough, that was actually the FIRST full episode of the show I have EVER seen. I was really enthralled by all the drama of the show, but the show itself is pretty extraordinary. In the episode I saw, the girls had to take photographs in a "bullpit" it was pretty horrifying, but the pictures were HOT!!!! I personally loved Eugena's pic, but all the rest of the pictures wer totally awesome. Check 'em out. You GO Tyra.

The T on Naomi Campbell

Last week, on the 15th to be exact, Naomi Campbell Campbell appeared in criminal court in New York City regarding her March 2006 assault. Her defense lawyer and the prosecutor told the judge that they were "still in the process of working out a possible" plea deal in the case. For those of you who don't know what this is about. Apparantly, On 30 March 2006 in New York City, Campbell was arrested for allegedly assaulting her housekeeper with a jewel-encrusted cell phone, resulting in a bloody head that required stitches. She was charged with second-degree assault, a felony that carries a minimum sentence of one year and a maximum of seven years in prison. Is this going to be another season of countdown to lockdown? I guess we'll have to see, but in the mean time, read about Ms. Campbell's violent history:

~Campbell has been accused of committing acts of violence and verbal abuse against some of her employees and associates. Documented accusations include:
~In 2000, she pleaded guilty in a Toronto court to a 1998 assault on Georgina Galanis, her then assistant; Campbell had assaulted Galanis with a telephone in a hotel room and threatened to throw her out of a moving car. Under an agreement with the prosecution her record was cleared in exchange for her expressing remorse; Campbell also paid Galanis an undisclosed amount of money and agreed to attend anger management classes.
~March 2005, the model was said to have slapped assistant Amanda Brack and beaten her around the head with a BlackBerry handheld personal organiser. The star's spokesman Rob Shuter denied the incident ever took place. In July 2006, Brack began proceedings against Campbell, claiming the supermodel abused her verbally and physically on three continents. Brack accused Campbell of assault, battery, false imprisonment and infliction of emotional distress in incidents that started a month after she began working for her in February 2005
Italian actress Yvonne Scio has claimed the model left her "covered in blood" after a spat at a Rome hotel. Yvonne claimed: "She punched me in the face. She was like Mike Tyson." Interestingly enough, Campbell once dated Mike Tyson.

~On 25 October 2006, she was arrested in London on suspicion of assault. She has been released on police bail.
~On 14 November 2006, another former Campbell housekeeper, Gaby Gibson, filed a new lawsuit against the supermodel seeking unspecified damages, and accused her ex-employer of being a "violent super-bigot.".

Queen of Fashion

If anyone is as much of a fashion junkie as I am, you would recall that the very lovely Kirsten Dunst was on the cover of Vogue and Teen Vogue in the last month or so. That is because of her role as the extraordinary Marie Antoinette. I really didn't know too much about Marie Antoinette or Kirsten Dunst for that matter but as I read both of the articles (Vogue's and Teen Vogue's) I became more and more intrigued. Marie Antoinette became queen of France by marrying one of the King Louis'. There were so many of them lol. But, apparantly, she was known for her super extravagant hairstyles which were often so high the hairdresser had to stand on ladders to get the styles to perfection. Most always, Marie had her hair shaped into different things that told stories. She was so influential that everyone who was anyone tried to mimmick her hair. A lot of the older Frenchmen(women) were disgusted by this display of extravagance, but hell, what could they say? She was the queen. Anyway, I just realized alot about today's fashion and style through that history. Surprisingly, a MAN did many of her hairstyles. I can't remember his name, it was Pierre or something French like that. He used a lot of things when doing her hair like fake hair (weave), sequin, and glitter. Also, I learned that many writers wrote stories and articles about her frequent changes of style (today's tabloids and fashion magazines) and that frequent hairstylists and couturiers studied her style so they could copy it and sell it for less (knock-off labels). It's amazing how much history repeats itself, especially in the area of fashion. Well anyway, don't wanna talk too much, even though it IS my blog lol. If anyone is more interested, you should read Caroline Weber's book Queen of Fashion or pick up the Vogue with Kirsten Dunst on the front.

Case No. 209: Nas and the Ex

Apparantly, Nas's ex girlfriend Carmen Bryan claims that Nas punched her. In a quote found in her biography "Its No Secret" : "The next thing I knew I was being hit in the face with a closed fist. The impact of the blow was so fierce that I saw stars." I personally don't find this to be true just because ignorance repeats itself and if he were to repeat that on Kelis, she would have some kind of psychotic episode. Well anyway hit me back with what you think.

George Clooney named People's Sexiest Man Alive???

George Clooney has just been named this year's Sexiest Man Alive by People. He along with Mr. Pitt have 2 of these titles. Now, while I can't deny the fact that George is attractive, where are the black men? Seems they are in short supply. Well, actually I think Denzel Washington might've won one once upon a time, but I digress...If I was on the committee at People for this, here would be some of my candidates....Enjoy -JJ
