I Love Being Gay

So I know my posts are on this weird ass schedule, but I just keep having these ideas and those of you who blog frequently, know that when you have an idea, you better write it and at least draft it because you'll forget.

Anywho, I just love being gay. I really do. I was on BGC last night looking at some of the Forum Posts, and i just smiled and said to myself "These are my people!". Here is a list that I comprised/am in the process of comprising about why I love being gay.

  • I love the way gays have this like inate sense of humor and wit. It's just amazing to me.
  • I love the way we as gays are so creative when it comes to artistic stuff; art, singing, etc
  • I love the way we (those who are out anyway) can just strut down the street and just pump and not care
  • I love the fact there is such a dynamic in our community.
  • I love the fact that when we as gays have family problems, other gays surround them and we have these familial bonds that are closer than blood.
  • I love the way homos have taken over the fashion industry
  • I love the way homos have taken over the gospel music industry
  • I love the way homos have taken over every industry
  • I love when we dress up in drag, girls are envious
  • I love the way that even though we will take extreme measures, we are the most image conscious people on earth
  • I love the way our culture has evolved into something grand and beautiful
  • I love the way the older gays give the younger gays advice

I don't know, just something that came to mind. I'll be adding more as more comes, but in the meantime, you guys can add on if you like

Hey, what about the intellectual gays? or the masculine gays? or the "for our community" gays?

You are right. Being gay does have some awesome benefits that I really think sets us completely apart from so many other types of people.

I think though, and not to be a damper, that being gay does seem to have its pit falls. Like in the gospel music industry. We can name names and speculate all day long (two songs, we fall down and your anthem, one more chance) but who's really going to say they're out. And as long as you're perpetrating...nevermind, I just got a post idea. You're such an inspiration, thanks boo and stay tuned.

I'm glad you're gay too! LOL
Hey, gays have come a long way and we've set the standard for many industries...heck, to be such a battered group, we've proven that even the staunchest of straight men have had to follow in our footsteps and become metrosexuals to attract what we've been deflecting for years. We're living proof of the lemon to lemonade theory.

I love being gay too. Our brains our wired so have the strenghts of the straight males and females all in one brain, we are a neurological work of art. We can be masculine and strong when we want, but unlike the hetero men, aren't this way all the time by default for no reason, only when prudent.

And have you seen hetereo men ? They're so overly masculine and emotionally dysfunctional. A gay man is simply a streamlined man, minus the machismo and plus all that's fabulous !

PS- Tim Gunn is my hero, god bless him, now he's what I call a "real" man !
